I've had no problem with it. Also, you can always camo (paint) your gun.

It doesn't make any difference is a barrel is blued or bare stainless. If the barrel has a highly polished surface it will reflect light. I've never noticed any difference with deer's reactions between the two. I did use a synthetic sanding pad much like a scotchbrite pad to give my Ruger barrel a brushed look. I did that for my tastes not worrying about the deer. I had already hunted with it over nine years.

I wouldn't worry about it. I would be more concerned with hiding yourself than my rifle. If they see your rifle, they're seeing you!

The posibility is very real. Although if it were of a satin finish that posibility
would diminish greatly.
If you already have a SS barrel it seems like the question is mute.

As previously stated it's the polish level NOT the color of the metal that determines shine. Most SS barrels are a duller finish than most blued barrels so should shine less. There are a LOT of white/gray/light colored things in the woods where I hunt. More so than BLUE things. So in effect the dull gray of a matte finished SS barrel should fit in better than a blued one at least in the southern woods of Bama where I hunt.
