Flame cutting on Reminton cyl pin
« on: August 28, 2005, 11:57:31 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have two Remington repros which have each fired in excess of four thousand rounds. The other day I was horrified to find severe flame cutting of the cylinder pins on both guns. It's not so easy to see unless you remove the pin completely from the frame. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, I have a 20 Y/O Pietta with atleast that many rounds and the pin has a cut in it.  It started fairly early in it's life and I bought a spare because it started looking "bad".   I still have the unused spare, while the original id cut I don't think it's going anywhere...Check with VTI Gun parts for a replacement..

Could you please explain what VTI is and how to contact?
I have a very good e-friend with flame cutting issues in his revolvers also and I doubt he knows what VTI is.|
Niether to I.
Thanks.

Thanks wiley, Nice folks at VTI and they can get all the little things we seem to break and wear out.
