The main gun show is at the VFW building (AND GROUNDS) but the WHOLE town participates.

300,000 to 400,000 expected this weekend.

News at 11.  (there will be one or two cannons there)

HillsvilleVFW Gunshow and Flea Market 2005

Overview of a SMALL part (VFW building in background center)

A look up the street (when not busy yet) - area of flea market is at least twice as-far-as-you-can-see.

Second hand wheels - poor shape - small ones were $20 asking.

Cast iron $1,200 decoration - 6” bore.

Iron barreled $600 cannon.  Note the copper tubing used to rim the wheels.

Cast iron - no liner - $300 golf-ball + caliber set up as swivel gun.

Brass Coehorn mortar - 2.75” bore (optimistically reported range of 500 yards with cement filled cans).

Average year for cannon.

Regarding the Coehorn range of 500 yards, I doubt that a cement-filled beercan would go that far, but I have a slightly smaller one that will throw a solid shot to 600 yards, so I could believe it would launch a solid shot to 500 yards.

Those brass coehorns look like the ones that Wild imports sell.

We both went, walked for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.  Good exercise.  I spent $1 for 5 hacksaw blades.  Also hit a dozen yard sales.  Might go back on Monday when the prices get very reasonable.

Having seen one of the Wild Import beer can mortars up close and personal at a Ft. Lauderdale gun show, I have no doubt whatsoever that this $900 offering is from them.

Good deal for the seller if he gets it. Rotten deal for the poor sap that buys it.

Such is the nature of trading guns!  It would be fun to watch his reaction to the question of whether he'd take $400, since they could be bought new for $625.

Hmmmm.   That would be too easy.  Not worth the gas to drive the 20 miles back over there.

After writing the price comparison quote above,  I felt bad about knocking someone elses product and a guy trying to making make a buck that I edited my quote and removed the prices.  After reading what you guys wrote in response, I don't feel so bad about what I wrote.   You guys are absolutely right!
