kenbev -

you can get a 22 K Hornet reamer and get a few percent more velocity. it's a good round, the K Hornet, the cases last a bit longer than regular cases.

what are you looking for ?

Just looking for something the Hornet can grow into. I may be getting an extra barrel and thought I might do something with it.

222 Remington would be my choice...but only those Hornets on a SB-2 frame...not any shotgun frame or old sinterd steel H&R frame..

If I was to do this, I'd go with the 221 fireball.

i like the one i had converted to a 218 bee, notto much difference but its a great round, just a bump more  then a hornet in distance and its something little unique

The Fireball really is a good one. A real step up in power but still very efficient and known for benchrest-level accuracy.

225 Winchester. Close to same power as 22-250 but with a RIMMED case.

If the reamer will clean up the old chamber, the 6mm/06 is a great long distance deer round.

Absolutely correct. 6mm/06AI it would need to be. (But, that's a good one too!)

I may just put the 243 barrel on the classified page and see if I can trade it for something...
