Mississippi is now allowing any gun that is breech loading and has a patent before 1900 to be considered a primitive weapon.

I think that is great. All States should do the same thing.  :D

I guess that would include the most famous bolt action rifle of all time the Mauser 98 (from 1898). I have to believe there are other limitations like black powder cartridge only or something similar as my Remington Rolling Block 7mm would be a contender also. Personally I don't have a problem with it as it is not my state anyway but seems there has to be more to it than just patent before 1900.

I would think that awfully generous unless there were further limitations, like BP-only and single-shot...
  With those two limitations, I could almost see it.  My Omega probably has better ballistics than most re-1900 BP cartridges.

You are right, but I can reload the cartridge faster.  :D
