I just picked up a new Handi last week in .223, and it has a gray laminated stock set. What's piqued my curiosity is the National Wild Turkey Federation insignia in the stock. Was this a special run offered? If so, when, and what other calibers were offered? Thanks!

Nice rifle bro. :agree: You are right on the special run. There are only a few out there. I can't give ya much detail, cause I don't kow much about this run, but there were a few limited runs with the gray laminated stocks.
And very sought after by Handiholics

Well, that's nice to hear! Its the third Handi I've picked up with laminated stocks, and I think it goes well with my green laminated .45-70 and cinnamon laminated .25-06.

I can't remember the prefix on the serial number, but I will check later tonight.

This is the first one I've seen with a gray stock set, and it really matches the bluing well. I haven't shot it since mounting the Leupold on it, but I would imagine it will shoot fine.

Jason:

The grey Laminates were available on some guns...mainly special runs like yours and some of the 444Marlins...and a few others...and from my discussions with NEF ..they are discussing bringing back the greys...and a few others since they have been requested by many folks.

Here's a pic of my Custom 338-06 Handi with a set on it...they don't have the stamping like yours or a medalion as others have..but they sure do jazz it up :wink:

Man it would be a great day indeed if NEF actually did bring back the gray laminates. Put my name on that list if so. :grin:
I think they would look even better if the checkering was darker.
