Need loads for Model 70 .243 WSSM
« on: September 07, 2005, 06:11:30 PM »
Experienced loader looking to glean info from your experience with this cartridge.  I have brass, shellplates, etc on the way.  I have large lot of 6mm bullets already.  Will likely set up 85 or 100 gr partition load.

Powder selection?
Primer?
Accuracy?
Velocity?

What is your experience?

I have a little info from Hodgdon and have some pending from Nosler.
Did some internet searching and have some info.  I like to compare data and work up loads from there.

Will work up appropriate and safe loads when adequate information is recevied.

Thanks for your help in letting me know what works for you.

Thanks for the reply.  I will look thru these.

Hoping to get some info from actual experience vs data from load book.

Tell ya what...

Compare my data to that contained in a "load book"...

You may be surprised to find that my data is obtained from "actual experience".

Do you have some accuracy data as well?

I ask because I have a M-70 Stealth II, and with the factory rounds groups were just under 2" at 100 yds.

I tried both the 100 gr. Winchester soft point and the 55 gr. ballistic tips.

I have already purchased V-Max bullets in the 60, 70 & 80 grain range, Varget powder and Redding competition bushing dies.

Just curious how tight the groups were............
