i got the reamer today :) that was the shortest 3 weeks that i ever seen :)

i will get some cutting oil from my smith friend tomorrow and do my rechamber.then i will ship out the reamer to one hole 4570.there will be some cutting oil in the package for your rechambering jobs too.i also will make out some address lables with all the users names and there address.this will help you all out some and will speed up the process, these will be in order and there will be a lable in there for your return address too.how would that be?

the price of the reamer was $147.00 and they charged me $14.95 shipping  maybe we can pickup someone else for this rechamber so that will eat up that extra shipping cost.anyone else want in?

the reamer will be on its way to you ONE HOLE 4570 tomorrow or the next day

MY BARREL IS NOW DONE

and the reamer has been shipped out to ONE SHOT 4570.
there is a small bottle of thread cutting oil in the package and some shipping lables in there too.the lables are all made out for you,all you must do is fill in your return address.

when you do this rechamber you will want the ejector all the way in.if you are carefull when you take your barrel off the frame the ejector wont pop out,it will stay in.just coat the reamer with the thread cutting oil and put the reamer in the chamber until it stops.then start turning the reamer with the T handle.you will want to turn the reamer some and remove the reamer to clean off the metal shavings from the reamer.you should also run a patch down the bore at this time to clean any metal shavings away from the throat and rifling.after you have done that recoat the reamer with the cutting oil and start the process over again.it will take about 3 or 4 cleanings of the reamer to compleat the job.make sure you dont cut the recess for the rim of the case any deeper than it is from the factory.the reamer will kind of stop right there anyway.once you are there the job is done.those of you that rechambered the 357mag to 357max know what i am talking about.

if you have any questions about this PM me for my phone number.i would be glad to talk to any of you and will help in any way.

have fun and good luck,
jeff

After the barrel has been removed from the frame, you can push the ejector in and it will lock in place IF it hasn't been converted to an extractor.

thanks Quick for the input about pushing the ejector in

one more thing i am going to tell you about is the shipping.Pacific Tool and Guage used UPS for the shipping.the UPS shipping charge was $14.95.when i shipped the reamer out today the shipping charge was $1.75 in the same box and i included a small bottle of cutting oil too.use the US Postal Service for this shipping to the next guy.if you want to add insurance to the package it will only cost you an extra $2.00 and that insurance will be for $150.00.i didnt insure the package because for the $1.75 charge it is shipped first class to you.the package used is a good one and i think it can be used over and over.i know UPS has to make money but im not going to buy them a steak dinner every time i send something out.its the US Postal Service for me from now on unless i have to go with UPS for some strange reason.

Question

Dosent the ejector stick out a slight amount when you have it locked in and when you close the barrel it pushes it in the rest of the way???

Would it be better to remove the ejector all together?? not a big deal to do but may make it easier to ream with less in the way

any comments before the reamer gets here would be great

i cant tell you right now bro because im at work.im thinking the ejector is flush with the barrel when its in.if not its a simple case of driving the pin out and removing the ejector and dont loose the spring thats in there

i rechambered a contender barrel not a handi rifle

I agree with you, I removed the ejector on my 357 when I
reamed it to 357 Max. Just MHO Marv.

What is the status of the reamer program? Found a link to this site on the yahoo nef-singleshot list and am interested.

Thanks,

Question.

What advantage do you get by reaming the 44Mag, How much extra velocity compared or equal to what? I don't have a drw. of this case.
