Early this spring I came across a BPCR accessories supplier who advertised glass (or maybe plastic?) vials so a Shooter could load pre-measured charges @ the range.

For the life of me I can not recall the company's name. Or exactly where I saw the advertisement or link.

Does anyone else recall seeing such a product?

I'm contemplating fabricating a wooden box to hold glass vials of pre-measured charges to load @ the range a .25-20SS & a .32-40.

Try a science lab supply house...have varisous sizes of capped test tubes and plastic vials (along with some great squeeze bottles for your solvents...good bushes for nooks and creases).

Truth is, becasue we load by VOLUME...can use the graduated ones to measure the charge.

If you shoot cap-and-ball revolers, the test tube cleaning brushes are great...have bristles over the end, so it reaches to the very bottom of the chamber.

Got any friends who are surgury techs, surgury nurses, or rad. techs?

Lot of procedures (like lumbar puncutures) come pre-packaged and disposable. The kits often have plastic fluid collection vials (with caps). Often they aren't used in the procedure but they cannot be sterialized for reuse, so are tossed.

Dixie Gun Works, They are a vinyl plastic and last forever. They are called loading tubes. Stuff a premeasured amount of powder in there and stuff the ball in to seal off.
If you don't shoot balls you might still be able to seal the tubes off with corks.

Go to your local Wal-Mart Camera Dept or Photo Processing Store and ask for the 35mm clear/white containers with lids. These work great for what your looking for, and best of all.... they are free for the asking.

Look around their site. I use the #2591T55 Snap-Cap Microtubes. They have glass ones too, which you can open with one hand and pour into your cylinder and look kinda cool, but the plastic centrifuge tubes (with the pointy ends) hold a good charge with room for more, and the tops stay on even in your pocket. They open with one hand and pour well. They come in colors if you want to vary charges, and can be used for cornmeal too. You'll have no need for a holder, just drop a handful on the table. One drawback; they don't look Cowboy.

If you haven't found an alternative and PM me an address, I'll send you a few samples, and will do the same for any other BP shooters until I run out of my extras. Naw, I don't work for them. :wink:

Goatlips: thanks for the link & I'll look for the glass ones.

Need something that will hold 105+ grains of BP. The .45-2 7/8" (AKA .45-110) needs a great deal of powder to fill the case.

Am seriously thinking 'bout loading from the bench once again. Just use one case for a day's shooting. Haven't done that since I dabbled in Schuetzen shooting....
