Gas Prices & Trail Bikes.............
« on: August 26, 2005, 12:50:16 PM »
My grandkids the other day were snooping around in our barn and came across our two 1986 Honda CT 110 Trail bikes that have been sitting in there ever since 1998(the last time I licensed them).  Seeing I remember them getting great gas mileage I dug them out, loaded them in the truck and hauled them down to the Honda dealer for a good tune up and reconditioning.  When I got there the repair shop supervisor told my I was going to have a waiting period of about 10 days.  Seems like many others had the same idea.  They must of had at least 20 plus Honda/Yamaha type trail bikes in there for the same reason as me.  Got me to wondering, just how many here have one or more of these great little trail bikes that they use for hunting/fishing?  With today’s gas prices it seems many are showing up again and their resale prices are climbing.  Lawdog

They really never quit being popular, just not as available as they used to be. I wish Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki still made affordablel small street trail bikes instead of the heavy overpriced monsters that they now sell. I saw this web site and it brought back memories...

I don’t doubt that they are still popular as the supervisor told me that they had no problem selling everyone they could get their hands on.  He asked me if I would be interested in selling ours, the answer of course was no.  He told me the last one they sold after a re-condition went for over $2,500.00  .  From the looks of it they are one of my better investments.  Lawdog
