DD,

Those are some great shots! They are right in my neighborhood too (about 25 miles).

Have you ever been to the Navy Museum in DC?

They have some great stuff!

We just got some pictures back from there today, but they have to be scaned in.

I have a couple from the digital camera.

This one is a boat howitzer on a mount for a boat.

Another boat howitzer.

This I think is a 12 pound Brittish, or a 14 pound French?

This is a small portion of the outside display area.

They have dozzens of Bronze guns around a park nearby but still in the Navy Yard Grounds.

You need to call ahead to get in there.

Visit the http://www.history.navy.mil/cannons/cannons.html" target="_blank">Bronze Guns of Leutze Park (Washington Navy Yard) via the internet.  There are pictures on the first page; you just have to go down a ways.  Be sure to follow all of the links on each page.

Thanks George,

That's exactly what I was talking about!

If you look in the background of the outside shot, my wife is standing at the muzzle of a tube from a battleship.
