I had asked the same question some months ago, and decided to try it for myself (on a contender). I was contacted by another member from this forum and he had offered to sell me either a peep sight or Williams-style target sight (like a factory TC sight, but more adjustable and capable of very fine-tuning). He sent them to me and allowed me to try them risk free, no obligation to buy. I tried them both and didn't like the TC peep sight. I found that with the pistol configuration, it was too hard for me to get a good sight picture. That's not to say that the next guy might absolutely love the peep. I did not. I did, however, love the Williams sight. It has windage and elevation adjustments that are more-or-less micro-adjustable, and I like it a lot better than the standard TC sights that come from the factory. So I sent the peep back and kept the Williams. If you really want to find out, the best way is to probably just see if you can get your hands on one and give it a try.
