.270 EXTRACTER QUESTION
« on: September 11, 2005, 06:46:19 AM »
I GOT MY .270 BARREL THE OTHER DAY. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT SHOOTS. BUT THERE IS JUST ONE THING I'M NOT TO HAPPY WITH.
THE EXTRACTER, IT LOOKS LIKE A TOTALLY DIFFRENT MECHANISIM THEN MY .223.  MY .223 WILL THROW THE SPENT CASES CLEAR OVER MY SHOULDER BUT THE .270 ONLY PULLS THE EMPTY OUT FAR ENOUGH TO GET YOUR FINGERS ON IT AND PULL IT OUT. IS THIS COMMON WHEN YOU BUY THE EXTRA BARRELS? IS THERE ANY THING I CAN DO TO FIX THIS?

theres nothing you can do to change it other then order another 270 with an ejector instead of an extractor.  The ejectors and extractors lugs are two seperate beasts...

There ya have it, get used to it, the extractors will come on all barrels eventually, the ejectors will become a thing of the past once all of the ejector underlugs are depleted at H&R.

Larry, Please loose the caps, use of all caps is considered yelling and is harder to read.

Thanks.
