Beretta U22 Neo pistol 6.0

Does anyone have any input on this particular pistol.
I would like to speak to those who own or shoot this piece.
I would like to know the best ammo for this piece
I know that so far winchester stovepipes something terrible.
Any tips would be helpful.


-Also, any information on how to obtain accesories for this pistol would be of great help to me as well.

I looked at one tonight for my wife.  Looks like a neat little plinker that will fit her hand well...and it seems light enough that she could run quite a few rounds through it without tiring.  The accessories for it look interesting too...especially the two-tone grips.

So guys, any feedback on the Neo?  Can't be too bad if it is a Baretta...right?

i would ck out shooting times review theirs stovepiped and was very in-accurate. i have it somewhere i will try to find today. i think the S&W 22A is a more accurate gun by far ( by reviews) i have 2 rugers. You can also buy different barrels for 22A and switch back and forth between barrel lengths, scope and unscoped for suprisingly cheap. I am gonna get one  :D

My dad bought one of these a few months back...I don't know if it is the 6.0(mainly because I don't know what that is) if it is barrel length then I would say it is pretty close.  We have shot the heck out of it.  I think we might have had a few malfunctions but I never thought anything about it.  My dad bought this over the other 22s based on how it felt in his hand.  He really likes the gun.  
As far as ammo...I don't recall any being better than another.  I can check with pops to see if he has noticed a difference.

I'm a little concerned about the S&W 22A's.  Seems like I stumbled across more than one post that said a "hook" breaks off internally, after some use.  Have you heard about any problems with the 22A?  Other than the negative feedback I've seen, the pistol is seems well-suited for my better-half.

Not looking for a tack-driver...just a safe, dependable, light weight pistol for casual use.  Comments please!

I bought one two weeks ago. Started with a red dot by Tasco and then put a used Holisight by Bushnell. I have been more than pleased with the results. I guess I have put about 700 rounds thorugh it. Wal-mart Remingtons $9.00 for 550. Maybe three failures to eject the spent cartridge. The accuracy is more than sufficient for me. The human error is more of a concern for me. I also have a Ruger MKII slabside that I am waiting for the sope mount to come in. Hope this helps.

In the January 2003 Gun Tests (www.gun-tests.com) they do a comparison between the Walther P22, Beretta U22 Neos and the Smith & Wesson 22A-1.  In the article they talk about the good points as well as any faults that they come across.  They found that the safety when in the safe position interferes with the comfort of the grip and had at one point actually released the safety when just holding the gun, location of the magazine release was not easy to use for left handers located on the right side above the trigger, and the trigger was a little gritty( I have talked to a local gun shop and they said that they found the trigger pull to be on the heavy side and recommend a trigger job, other than that they liked the gun).  Of the three guns tested Gun Tests picked the Neos as their pick of the three but did say that the fit of the gun in your own hand may be the deciding factor of making the purchase or not.  
I also am interested in the Neos and from what I have see of them and read so far I think that it will be on my list of guns to own at some point in the future.  The one I looked at had a good feel and was the most simple to disassemble that I have seen, and it also allows you to change the barrel lengths easily.

I love mine.  I have shot several thousand rounds through it without a hiccup.  Mine has the shorter (4"?) barrell.   I snatched up this one right before the ban went into effect in MD.  I intended to buy a longer barrel for it but decided that there was no reason to.  This gun shoots <2" groups at 50 yds with Remington golden bullets (the ones you buy in the 550 pack at Wally World for $9.)  

Don is right about the mag release and the trigger.  Haven't done it yet but a trigger job is definately in order.  I shoot pistols right handed so the mag release is fine for me.   I mounted a BSA red dot on it.  Very happy.

My sister in law (or was that the sister outlaw?) bought one 4 weeks ago.

She absolutely loves it.  My brother also likes it, but complained about the trigger.  After I shot it I was amazed at the groups they where getting.  It had the worst trigger I have ever felt.  

The trigger has much pre and post travel and my trigger scale did not go up high enough to measure.  After a heap of stoning and a new spring I have the trigger to 3-1/2 pounds and have eliminated about half the creep.  This trigger is now simply poor.  I will need to polish the sear and burnish with moly.  The need for a set screw or two is in order.  This trigger job will take three attempts at best.  

Unless you relish a project (I do) or simply love the grip feel or looks of this gun I would get something else.  Perhaps a later model of the NEOS will have a better trigger, this seems to be a huge complaint.

I have owned a NEos 22 (6 inch barrel Inox deluxe model) since last October and have put only about 500 rds. through it.  I know that means that it's still green, but I haven't had any problems with it.  I find its accuracy great, and love the way it fits my hand.  I think that the trigger is fine--haven't noticed any excessive creep.  The key factor with this gun for me is how customizeable it is.  Throw in the carbine kit that Beretta swears should be out this July and it's a can't lose situation.  All with a sub-$300 price tag. 8)

I have a 4inch model. And like it alot, shoots most ammo prety good. Go to the beretta web site and you'll find lost of stuuf for them.

i just purchased the U22 Neos 6.0 Inox last night and put about 300 rounds through it.  i had a few hang ups (mainly due to ammo i think) and had some problems with the trigger getting hung up.  i gave it a good cleaning last night and found several metal shavings that also may have contributed to the hang ups.   the trigger was also getting hung up at times and was hard to squeeze.  as far as accuracy goes i cant complain.  with a red dot scope at about 30 feet i was able to group consistantly.  so first impressions were so so.  i will try it again this weekend with different ammo and hopefully  the good cleaning and lube will help with any hang ups that i encountered.

I bought an U22 at a yardsale for $190 two weeks ago. Finally got to shoot it yesterday. Shot some Wolf target ammo and it functioned flawlessy with it. Seemed to shoot fairly accurate. Shot a 94/100 on a 25 yd. NRA slowfire target. The sights do not make any 'clicks' but. seemed to hold their zero once adjusted. Only real complaint is the trigger is probably about 6 pounds(don't have trigger scales but I do have a hardball gun that the trigger has been weighed at 4.5 pounds so 6 pounds is my estimate)WAY too heavy for a target gun. I bought the gun for my wife and I think she will like the lighter weight of the gun.

Watch the rear sight screw ( windage) they like to back themselves out and get lost. This will only be a factor if you put a "Dot" sight on it. (not using the irons)
