In the January 2003 Gun Tests (
www.gun-tests.com) they do a comparison between the Walther P22, Beretta U22 Neos and the Smith & Wesson 22A-1. In the article they talk about the good points as well as any faults that they come across. They found that the safety when in the safe position interferes with the comfort of the grip and had at one point actually released the safety when just holding the gun, location of the magazine release was not easy to use for left handers located on the right side above the trigger, and the trigger was a little gritty( I have talked to a local gun shop and they said that they found the trigger pull to be on the heavy side and recommend a trigger job, other than that they liked the gun). Of the three guns tested Gun Tests picked the Neos as their pick of the three but did say that the fit of the gun in your own hand may be the deciding factor of making the purchase or not.
I also am interested in the Neos and from what I have see of them and read so far I think that it will be on my list of guns to own at some point in the future. The one I looked at had a good feel and was the most simple to disassemble that I have seen, and it also allows you to change the barrel lengths easily.
Hope this helps.
