tim i see the post's on lock up of our guns,i see were guy's say that when there handy is locked up that they can fit this size feeler gage or that size.when i first got my buff classic i had to really slam it shut and i had a big gap between the breech  and the action. took it to the h&r gunsmith here in west aus he test fired it and said it was safe. now that the action has bedded in i have no gap at all. if i close the action on a cigaret paper and try to pull it out it rips the paper.at the end of the breech each side of the ejector, that part is loosing its blueing from closing against the action it is now fully bedded its self in and no more blueing is being removed.maybe that is wy it is so accurate not disregarding the barrel which my gun smith say's is very good in the bore.its just a thought what do you think.

Dunno, that's a new one on me...but, FWIW, several of mine have worn bluing on the face of the barrel breech, I think that's normal for one that locks up tight. Every time it closes, it's gonna be rubbing against the standing breech, at least on the lower part. As long as it's shooting good, I wouldn't worry about it, just use a good protective gun oil on it, or if  you don't like the looks of it, degrease the barrel and use some Birchwood Casey Perma Blue on it to reblue the worn spot.
