? 24" SST ENCORE .22-250
« on: September 14, 2005, 05:44:42 PM »
Im interested in getting a NEW 24" SST .22-250 ENCORE Barrel. Probably won't be reloading for it for a while untill I get a surplus of brass and will be shooting FACTORY ammo. Who has one and how do they shoot? Ill probably install one of my 4X12X50 mm scopes on it from another rifle setup. What ammo and bullet weight do they prefer?
Thanks

Have the same in blue finish. Never tried factory ammo but I reload for it.
Haven't shot it that much. But the load that I worked up shoots excellent. 55Gr. bullet. Groups were under 3/4". Scope that I have on it is just a 4.5x14x. Another barrel that is a must is the 204. Now that one I have used factory and it shoots excellent.
Good luck...

I have one and have a great load with 55 gr. Nosler ballistic tips. I am getting sub MOA at 100 yards and very tight groups at 200 yards. I have a IOR Valdada 3.4X10X56mm scope on it, I find that plenty for it.  :D

I have the 26" factory stainless barrel. I shot it for the first time at three hundred yards. I was surprized I could shoot that well. I kept in a five inch group. I think that's good for my first time at that range. I know the gun can do better I just need to practice.
