You might want to check out the PMC and PMP ammo. The Sportsmansguide has it for around $7-10 a box.
Wolf is very cheap, but many haven't had good luck with it other than in their 223's. So you be the judge.

I can second the Australian (ADI) ammo as being high quality, consistent and not too hot.  I got some from Midway a year or so ago and it has been VERY accurate.  One group was 5 into less than 1-1/4".  Average group was about 1.5" from my Remington.  Never shot it in the Handi, though.  It is 147 grain if I remember.  We are getting a Gander Mtn in Texarkana next month, will be worth an hour drive to get some more.

I heard too that the 7.62 NATO spec ammo is ever so slightly different in dimensions. Still safe but just an accuracy diminisher.

If it was me I would reload for my .308 you can roll very accurate loads tuned for your rifle and still match or beat the cheap wolf ammo prices.

Bullets 150gr. Rem. Cor Lok $.09 each
Brass Win. Grade 1 1x fired $.07each
Powder aver 44.5gr  @ 2750FPS aver. $.10each
Primers Large Rifle $.02 each

Total per round $.28 X 20per box = $5.60
Total per round minus brass $.21 X 20per box = $4.20

You can beat that price if you buy your supplies in bulk.

Now you’re at the price of Wolf Ammo. But this ammo is tuned to your rifle.

Note: Powder was just average charge not meant to be used as starting load or max. FPS is just an average not starting FPS or max FPS. These numbers are just for reference only to give you an idea of average cost.

I have had terrific accuracy with Wolf... Range only. I would not use ball ammo hunting. I asked a friend (former West Point rifle coach) why so many were down on Russian ammo... "Because Russian primers were corrosive until the 50's"!
Wolf is dirtier, but no problems, other than an extra swab. I even use
Wolf in my Weatherby Mark V = perfect! I aways use corelok for hunting..
Think my last box of .308 non usable brass / steel was $3.99

2 months ago, I purchased recent manufacture U.S. military .308 (7.62 Nato) at 19 cents per round (if you purchased 1000 rounds) from sportsman guide.  This is new stuff, not remanufactured.

Cheaper than Wolf ammo, so I got 2000 rounds.

Not in their catalog this month, but pops up from time to time.
