long range coyote wackin

Sat in the deer stand Sun. morning with the 22-250 encore. Coyote stepped into the alfalfa field at about 195 yds at about 6:30. Was shooting the Win. 45 gr. hollow point 40 rd. value pack ammo. Have a Midway USA Tasco 6-24 cheapy scope mounted on it. Bullet entered right in the boiler room and went to pieces. The ol hound didn't  take a step and immediatly fell over dead. This is the longest shot i've ever made on any game animal. For me, this was more exciting than taking a deer. Coyote weighed 38 lbs. on the scale.

Congrats on a successful outing.  I too enjoy popping a cap when the opportunity presents its self.  - Even tho I may not go hunting for the animal I shoot.  The last yote I shot was with a 295 grain power belt out of my 209 x 50 while elk hunting.  He was only about 30 yards and definitely dropped on the spot.  A pine squirrel ran out on a limb about 4 feet over the dead yote and barked up a storm.  He must have been giving last rites or laughing his head off, I don't know which.
