Ammo suggestions
« on: September 13, 2005, 10:45:01 AM »
recently bought a 30-30 handi w/the williams sights.  Just sent my receiver off to NEF yesterday to get a hornet barrel.  Curious as to what you guys are using for an accurate factory load.  I have so far bought some 150grain rems and Win Silver box 150g.  haven't been to the range with the gun yet.  how do those shoot with the iron sights?  I would also like to hear your suggestions on 22 hornet factory ammo, as well as what kind of accuracy (100y w/open sights) you guy see. --thanks

A couple years ago I bought a 22 Hornett, only factory I could
find was Sellers & Bellot, It was junk could tell difference between
shots! I would go with Win Rem or Fed. if I didn't reload.
I don't think I have bought 6 boxes of Factory ammo in the last 30 years.
that is how long I have been reloading. Cheers Marv.

I will get dies for the 30-30 and the hornet in time.  I will just build up my brass with some factory ammo.  Id like to see if I can find one brand/bullet size that will give me decent groups in the mean while.  thanks for the heads up on S&B!  It gives me the "willies" when I feel or HEAR differences with factory loads!
