"Season" before sizing??

Was wondering if anyone lets their cast bullets season for a bit before sizing them?

and it so, why?

Nope.  In fact I don't size 'em.  By seasoning I'm guessing you mean aging.

I guess if I thought about it, the area shaped by sizing on a cured bullet would be softer due to realigning the antimony threads, but I think the thickness of the soft part would so thin as not to affect leading or accuracy, especially if you are sizing appropriately for your gun. I was not taught to wait or not to wait.

Size as soon as you can in most cases. Bullets that need much sizing are much easier to do when they are still soft. Sizing after age hardening softens the bullets again, at least on the surface.

The exception is bullets that you are mostly just lubing. I've never seen any problem with aged bullets that just brush the sides of the sizer.

Appreciate the answers.  I usually wait a day or two but that's because I'm casting and not lubing.  Did come to mind during one of those long casting sessions.
