NEF slug gun, does it exist?
« on: August 19, 2005, 08:49:51 PM »
I was in Don's Sporting Goods in lewistown MT last week and came across a single shot shotgun that I think was an NEF. It had a heavy rifled slug barrel in 12 ga. Is this what I saw or was it possibly something else. Wierd question I know but at the time I didn't hink much of it as I was looking for something else. Now I'm wondering what it was that I saw.

They may be big and ugly - but are capable of 2 to 2 1/2 groups at 100 yrds.

Here in NW ohio we drive a lot of deer with shooters at the corners

This gun is perfict for this type of hunting.

yep, u most likely seen what i have... its a tracker II plus, and it has the NEF markings instead of the H&R, even though they are the same, it looks identical to a ultra slug hunter, I havew the tracker II plus with laminate stock, and it has a NEF special medallion thing in the buttstock, shes perty, but that is most likely what u seen, I got home and seen the NEF and tracker II plus and i was like did they screw up and give me the wrong gun, i wanted a ultra slug hunter, but they are pretty much the same exact gun...

Can't speak for the 12 but the 20USH is 1" at 100yrds.  Mine really likes the Copper Solids. Will find out this season how good she really is.  Have been hunting with .54 percussion and roundball.  This USH will really have to shine to outdo my .54.

Sorry guys -- Maybe ugly was a bad choice of words    , They do have a special look to them , not the lines of a high dollar pump or auto loader but thats OK too

AS far as groups. The best i can get is just over 2 in. at 100 yards with mine but i can live with that

I actually agree with you. When I first bought mine and set it up to take some pictures I couldn't decide if it was pretty, or pretty ugly? After shooting it some it's starting to look nicer to me  .

New England here, and mine also shoots 1" at 100 yrds!!! I shoot Remington BUCK HAMMERS for anything out to 100 and switch to the REMINGTON ULTRA corelokt sabot slugs for anything out to 200yrds. I am lucky enough to have the same sighting in for BOTH. The hammers hit dead on and the sabots almost 2" high at 100 yrds. Quite a poke for a shot gun, I realize, but this one has plenty of accuracy and with these premiun slugs...it got the power to boot!

Mine is the ULTRA SLUG 12ga.
