7mm-.40 S&W?
« on: September 17, 2005, 08:00:31 AM »
I was messing around with my reloading stuff and I thought a 120 grain ballistic tip in a .40 case would be interesting.  Maybe I could start with a .357 SIG case.  I can't think of one single advantage or use...but I think it would be interesting.  It could be used in a NEF action and cut a barrel blank to the caliber.  7mm Whisper maybe?  heh heh.  Anyone ever heard of this?

I believe J.D. Jones made some Contender barrels in 7.62X25 with a real long throat and 1:8 twist to shoot heavy bullets. It works great subsonic, real quiet through a supressor but no option of fast loads like the regular Whisper. Yours would be very similar.

Isn't that a Tokerav (sp?) Russian loading?  7.62X25mm?

Yes, the 7.62x25 is also known as the 7.62 Tokarev.
