Questions on an Armaloy action
« on: September 26, 2005, 02:56:08 AM »
Hi,

This question may have already been asked several times but I didn't see it in any of the recent post. I just picked up my first Armaloy TC. I had heard that these could be fixed to use regular barrels. Does anyone know what they do to allow this. I wasn't sure if this one had been converted so I tried several barrels last night. The only problem I ran into was that the hinge pin on the Armaloy gun was a different diameter so it had to be used with the Armaloy frame. I also tried the Armaloy barrel on my other frame and it also locked up tight, even on a G2 frame I had. I'm just wondering what else I should check before actually trying a loaded round. Hope some of you guys have already been down this road and can save me any uhohs.

TIA,

Bill R.

the hinge pin hole is a smaller diameter because of the layer of coating inside the hole.  From what I understand, this can be removed easily with a correct diameter wooden dowel with polishing compound applied to it,or you ship it to T/C who will do the same thing for a fee.

I did my Armour Alloy frame and two barrels by wrapping 600 grit sandpaper over a dowel rod.  Just go slow and keep checking fit with the pin.

If you send the gun to TC, they will do the frame, your barrels, and give you a hinge pin, for no charge except shipping.  They will also do a complete inspection and lube job.

Worth the expense in my opinion.
