I might be getting an O.A. blue with adj. sights, used.
Who has one and what loads work with best accuracy for you?
Does anyone know why Ruger decided on the .457 ball instead of the more available .451/.454?
What is 'good' accuracy at 25 yards with this the pimo of can'n ball?

Have  the same you are gonna buy. Can't go wrong with this load: Hornady .457 round, ox yoke .45 wad and 35g pyrodex. I suppose 777 would work as well also. Haven't had a chance to run any Lee .456 REAL conicals yet - only shot a couple as they were so damn hard to seat until I bought a press. Both my brother and I were consistently hitting a 5" bullseye at 50 yards at the range using only a bag to rest the grip on.

I shoot the same load that ronbow uses...except with 3F BP.

Stick with the .457 round balls!  When you run them home, they shave a nice ring off as they enter the cylinder...to seal the chamber.  DON'T use smaller balls as they will not seat tightly or seal the chambers adequately.  The smaller balls can also move around from recoil.

Thanks for the tips.
unfortunately the ROA manual only says start wtih 20 frains 3f and work up to whatever 'full' is.
That's enough info really as one is never going to hurt a ROA with any maximum of black.
