New Gun Inbound Colt SAA 125TH Anniversary!
« on: October 01, 2005, 08:31:13 AM »
Hey Guys,

I just picked up one of these in probably 95%+ condition for $850, did I do good?  After reading this forum you guys have me all fired to up use it for hunting this year up in the Northeast.  I have some neck and shoulder problems but I can handle taking a shot with a pistol with no problem!  Never thought of it before now.  That big .45 will leave a nice hole behind it.

She's a 7 1/2 barreled 2nd Generation SAA made in 1961, older than me with gold plated trigger frame, grip frame and hammer in a factory wood box. Not to thrilled about all that foo foo stuff but I thought getting any Colt for under a grand is a good deal no matter what.  It's already been fired so I'm just gonna keep it up!

Looking forward to reading all the good advice you guys have posted here.  I shoot black powder so I'm already thinking of the dies I'm gonna need.  Who has the best brass and bullet molds for the 45lc?

Thanks

Billy

You did very well indeed!  Any used Colt under a grand is great.  And don't worry about it being an anniversary gun, if you want to shoot it, shoot it!  That's what guns are for.  I have a 'one of five hundred' engraved Colt 1911 in layaway right now.  I hope to have it out soon and shoot it a lot!  Always wanted a nice engraved gun.  Some friends say to put it up and don't fire it but what good would that do.  That's like owning a car you can't drive or having a wife you........ well you get the picture.  Enjoy.  44 Man
