Removing accraglss help

Have a wood stock (picked up cheap) that looks like it was heavily accraglassed to bed the whole length of the fore end. Would like to remove it to use on an action/barrel that I have. Any ideas of how to remove it if at all :cry: Nice wood would like to use it. My barrel action does not like the pressure & does not fit well.

If the glass was correctly applied(the wood was roughed and some removed before application) it will have to be re-glassed after the compound that's there is removed. In general heat will destroy accraglass the quickest but would likely damage the wood too.  It is affected by acetone but the simplest may well be abrasion. I would use a mototool to grind through the existing glass and try to pry it up. I have found instances where the glass was applied over the finish in the inletting. In that case I simply got under the edge of the glass and pried it out with a 1/4 inch wood chisel. If the bond is good then relieve enough glass with the moto tool so the metal is not in contact and there is room for a normal amount of bedding material and simply rebed to your rifle.. That is likely the easiest solution but you MUST first determine that the existing bedding is solid..
