I Have heard bad comments about these guns are they really that bad???

Not if we're talking about the older ones made in Japan by Miroku (sp). They were excellent. Made by same folks who make the Browning Citori and used to make the Winchester 101s.

If you're talking about current guns I have no clue.

Bought a semi auto 12 from WM,action block broke right in half after 50 rounds,I wouldnt consider buying another 1!!

I've had three Charles Daly's. Two were the Miroku's that Graybeard spoke of and they were great. I also bought one of the new ones made in Italy. It's a .410 O/U with ejectors mech. triggers, and balances very well. I had to open the chokes to mod/mod. The barrels came F/F but were .020 tighter than full at .375dia. Full choke in a .410 is .395. I also removed the automatic saftey rod, no break open gun should have an auto saftey. It cost me an extra $100.00 for the reamer and hone, but I made that back by doing two other peoples guns for them. I replaced the plastic butt plate with a 1/2" recoil pad because it was slippery.

I picked this one up NIB off Gun Broker for $499.00 Inc shipping. I haven't seen another one even close to that since. I think I got a good deal but only because I could do the needed modifications myself.

I own a 12 ga maxi mag pump. From the box it was complete doo doo. The thing had constant light strikes( no boom) and was dangerous as the safety didn't work. I sent it back and received a free turkey choke but to be honest it still has light strikes at times. I should have bought the 835 Mossy. I use it for snakes along the river. I thought I was finally rid of it this summer as my canoe turned over but the dang piece of doo doo floats. I'd sell it but just like my remington 742, I don't hate anyone that much.
