its a very close to  max load right out of the TC reloading manual.i tried to zero this hand cannon in this morning but no luck.i have only shot it out in the back yard just to get the fell of this heavy hitter but never had it on the bench.after about 4  or 5 shots off the bench i started looking for something loose because it didnt respond to my sight adjustments.everything was tight but i remembered my gun smith friend told me to place some tape on the scope tube just in front of the front scope ring.this would tell me if the two scope rings that i am using would be enough to hold the scope solid.i placed the tape there and i fired two more rounds.then i checked out the tape and sure enough the scope had slipped.it had moved about 1/4 of an inch.i wont fire it again until i get a third scope ring on there.three should be just the ticket  :)

this 445sm isnt anything like a 357max or standard 44mag.its a heavy hitter and its going to used for hunting and very little plinking :-D

My Sierra book shows 39.2 grs. of AA1680 as max, with it going 1900 fps. If you feel thats not enough you can go up to 33.2 grs. of 296 for 2000 fps.,and if thats not enough you can hustle up a can of discontioned 680 and go on up to 2050 fps.
The 300 gr. load would be 30.7 grs of 296 ( max load ) for 1800 fps. with the old 680 getting you another 50 fps for 1850 fps.The contender will never know what went off in it. :-D  :-D Digger
Rest in Peace Old Friend July 2017
