As has been said, I have a 45-120 BC and a 405 Winchester Target which has a 28" barrel compared to the 32" BC barrel, same frame. I've shot several different loads in the 45-120 from 405gr Rem at 1500fps to 525gr Beartooth Piledrivers at 1750fps, all using XMP5744. Other cast bullets that I've used are Cast Performance 405gr, 440gr and  460gr. Also shot some Montana Precision Swaging 500gr using Hodgdon T7, but I got alot of leading at the recommended load of 95grs. Since smokeless costs about the same as the T7, it's a no brainer to use smokeless instead of black since I can get the same or considerable better velocity with about half the volume of powder.

As has been recommended, use the search feature, you'll find lots of info on rechambering the 45-70 BC.
