Need Advice: where to fish for the next two months?
« on: May 27, 2007, 05:23:11 AM »
I have resigned my job in Georgia and have one week left before having 2 months off between jobs(have a line on a better job and the wife's blessings to enjoy this 'once-in-a-lifetime' job break).  I want to do several roadtrips in my truck with jonboat in tow to parks or forests with small lakes or rivers where I can enjoy camping and fishing in a tranquil restful setting (recall the lake in the opening scene of the Andy Griffith Show). I'm open to anywhere worthwhile in Tennessee, Kentucky,North or South Carolina.

how about just alittle south of Tennessee, NW Alabama.  I'm very partial to the Tennessee River system;especially below the dams..Wilson Dam between Florence and Muscle Shoals is where I have spent the bulk of my fishing time.Tons of catfish, whitebass, stripers, crappie, smallmouths, largemouths, spotted bass, and worlds of panfish.Wheeler Dam just to the east about 20 miles is wonderful also..
