Looks like you live in Colorado, how about a special rig for elk, another for bear, one for varmints...
It really depends on what you wish to use them for. As you get older or your interests change, so will your attractions to certain makes, models, and styles of firearms.
I have completely overhauled mine twice. There was a time that I wanted all the newest technology and highest velocity mags. That gave way to more practical and efficient firearms as I found the newest and fastest wasn't always the best. Then, over the past 5 years or so, my tastes have changed again. I'm not sure what to call it, other than more old fashioned and a little more "refined". Not highbrow or haughty, just that I look for something a little more unique that fits a purpose.
I could do all of my hunting with my 338 and 16 gauge double barrel shotgun. I do have other guns that fit a specific purpose much better than the 338 though. I've come to find that most of what is the latest and greatest is recycled from the early 1900's. I no longer seek maximum power or range, it just isn't needed and typically isn't very fun to either lug around in the mountains or shoot very often, for particular reasons.
If you want to start a collection, you might want a 7mm (some variant, doesn't have to be a magnum) for mule deer, maybe a 30 cal or bigger for elk (again, doesn't have to be a magnum), maybe a short woods rifle for those black bear, maybe a long range rig for pronghorn. Try several different action types. Most folks turn to the bolt actions, but in many cases a good lever action or single shot might get your blood flowing. All each have their strengths and weaknesses, and none are perfect for everything. Whichever action type, brand and model you choose, there's a suitable chambering for nearly purpose you desire to use it for. Single shots have some distinct advantages over a bolt action, and vice-versa. So do lever guns or pumps. Try out a few different types and figure out what suits you best. Odds are you'll end up with a lever or two, several bolts, a single shot or two, maybe a pump and a semi-auto. Bet you end up with brush cartridges, standards and a few belted ones too. Probably be from several different makes like Winchester, Browning, Ruger, Sako, Weatherby, Tikka, maybe even a custom rig or two. I hesitate to say Rem - Rem - Reming... shoot, I just can't curse on a family site like Graybeard, so I'll not say that green and gold company name.
