I got my new 308 barrel and was in need of some brass. Everywhere I looked I could only find winchester brass. I decided to buy some ammo, figuring that I had to fireform it anyway.
I bought some Hornady bullets since I already reload with Hornady heads. I fired 6 bullets and put 5 in a group that I can almost cover with a nickel and one flier(shooter error,me) that put my overall group at 1.75". I have never had factory ammo shoot that consistant from any gun. I then proceeded to clean and prep the brass for reloading. Every case measured exactly the same, and the weight had a 5gr spread for the 20cases. I have another box of factory ammo to fire off and I'm sure the numbers won't change. If I didn't enjoy reloading so much I'd probably just pay the extra money and buy Hornady's.
Good to know that if I'm in a pinch for bullets I can buy these and have the confidence in the loads.
