Some of you long time members will want to know this news. Subject: Jeff Gannon(MTNMAN) has passed away
I don't know if you all remember MTNMAN but I just read this on
Modernsportsman.com:
For those of you who are long time members of ModernSportsman.com
I have some very sad news for you, Jeff Gannon who was known to his
many friends here as Mtnman passed away the other day. I just
received a call from Wes Parker (Redneckokie), and he informed me
Jeff died from a massive heart attack. Family members told Wes it
was quick and Jeff did not suffer. True to form Jeff was in the
woods when he died, which if you knew Jeff you would know if he had
to die that is where he would want to be. For those of you who knew
Jeff and even those who did not, please join me in saying a prayer
for the repose of the soul of a good friend and a true Sportsman.
God Bless you Jeff, I hope where you are the turkeys are plentiful
with long beards, and the Bucks are big and all wall hangers I'll
meet you at the forest edge in the fullness of time. ........ Sierra
I just sent him a PM on another site and he congratulated me on my
daughter and commented on how beautiful she is...That was just a few
weeks ago. I am so sad...I have never met the man but his kindness
showed through in his posts and his knowledge of the outdoors. I
will miss his insight and his banter about his turkey gun and the
rest of his "pipe" he had in his gun safe. I always said that if I
were to travel down to the NY/NJ/PA border area that I would stop on
down to the Ramapo Mtns and visit Jeff. I guess I will never get
that chance...This is truly a tragic loss and a sad day for all.
