i just read on an other site a guy stating that a buffalo classic is rated at a max of 28000 psi. i don't  think this is coerect i think they are rated  the same as the marlin is this coerect i have read post that say guys are loading bottom end ruger no1 loads with no ill affects not that i would youse them  but i think
the sb2 frame is allot stronger than this guy states.

H&R says that they are good for Marlin level loads but not Ruger#1.  I have loaded up to the top end of the Marlin level.  In my books, the Trapdoor, Marlin, and Ruger areas overlap somewhat so hot Marlin loads usually are included in the Ruger area as starting loads.

thanks ian thats wot i thought i still would not shoot super hot loads in it i think the 45/70 is a good performer with medium loads ie 500cast bullet at 1450 fps thats all i've ever needed. ian you have a smith sight on your buff classic don't you any chance of a pic bin thinking of getting one just like to see wot they look like on the buff.

Whatever is stock on the BC... 17AUG I think.  It's too high tho.  I have to set  the ladder at 375 to get on target at 300.  I never have changed it.

ian just did a check and the 17aug is .584  the 17aml is .494 and the 17ahb is .404 i think the 17aml .494 would be perfect for the smith sight ,it should bring you just about dead on with the smith set at 300
