They are made in Japan by Miroku.

Basically, they are the Browning M1885 series sporting the Winchester logo.

The Browning BPCR series that were made especially for BPCR silhouette, had barrels made by BADGER. The other Browning M1885 series & I do believe this current series by Winchester have barrels also made in Japan.

The triggers aren't the best, but gunsmith Lee Shaver can easily remedy that. He charges about US$ 25.00 to hone the trigger & install a new spring. You just send him the trigger mechanism, which is very easy to remove. He did mine in 'bout a 10 day turn a round time.

If you want to install a vernier tang sight, make sure that the rifle has an upper tang, some of the Brownings didn't & I'm not sure of the configuration of these 'new' Winchesters.

Riflecountry:  I have a couple of the 1885 Browning BPCR.  I Have looked at the limited edition Winchesters in 45-90 first hand.  They are the Miroku Browning/Winchester rifle, only with a full octogon barrel, straight stock and cresent butt.  The barrel I think is a Badger, if I remember right, from what I think Texas Mac said, but it is rather light weight, more of a sporter configuration.  My guess is the lighter barrel, straight stock and cresent butt are not going to be pleasent to shoot in a full loaded 45-90 calibur, but I do like the looks of the rifle.   I do shoot the 45-90 calibur so if you choose this rifle, my best advise is be prepared, especialy if you shoot prone, to put some type shoulder pad or butt stock pad on the rifle. The tang is drilled and will accomodate a tang sight.  You could get a shotgun butt psitol grip stock from a Browning BPCR model and I am sure it would interchange right on.  Best of luck  steve witt

Thanks Guys,
I'm still in the shopping/decision making mode and I'm interested in the Sharp's and Hi-Wall rifles.Wishing I had bought that Browning BPCR way back when I had the chance. But now I'm kinda leaning toward the new Pedersoli  competition Sharp's if I can find one in 45-90. I appreciate the responses and advice. :D

Gents,
As of this morning, there are a couple of them out on Gunbroker in both .40-65 and .45-90.  They're not cheap.
