Tired of waiting for my 500......

OK guys, I need some input.
  I have been waiting for my local gun shop to get me a H&R 500 handi simce the beginning of March. I know a number of you have already gotten yours. Personally, I have a bunch of handis and really do not "NEED" another complete gun. So, I am contimplating getting my money back and just ordering a barrel in 500.

I have done this with other calibers, but wondered how many of you did this with your 500,verses how many got complete guns.

I was under the impression, that no accessory barrels where available in 500 cal until they got into full production. I think it was Quick, who said this wasn't true.

SO, as long as some of you all have gotten acessory barrels in this cal, I think, Iam going to get my money back from the store and just mail my receiver in for the barrel only.

I have also, been thinking about a HB ultra in 243 win....maybe I'll get that barrel on my Ultra frame as well.......Heck I got almost $250 coming back and barrels run about a 125 each...hummm    :grin:

I suggest you call H&R customer service and ask if they have any 500 barrels available.  If the answer is yes, have your credit card and the serial number of the frame you'd send in ready.  Ask them to reserve one.  

If that flies, get it into the mail insured pronto.

As stated in my earlier post I bought mine through the acc program. Took about 3 weeks.

I bought the complete gun didn't even have to order it the woman behind the counter handed it to me and told me i had to buy it. She was right.

Had 2 on a standing order with my Dealer. Stopped in about
3 months ago, and they were in. Did paperwork and paid for
them. I also noticed he had 6 more sitting there, as pretty as
you please.  Next day I stopped by and bought #3. I know,
why do I need 3   Because by the time I went back for #4,
they were sold out. I did manage to fill that empty feeling by
relieving him of a Survivor in .308 Heavy barrel.

My dealer has one on the shelf that has been there for several weeks. I've picked it up a couple of times, but just don't have a use for it. I have four Handi's, but they dont move very fast down here. I think he's asking $239. for the .500 he has.

Not sure if you found the 500 yet but I found mine in Florida and had it shipped to Va. They are hard to find! IF you don't have one yet let me know and I will locate one for Ya!!

 Thank yo u for the offer! When I forwarded the information Greenjeans sent me about local dealers with 500's on the rack. I told him to send my money to them and have the guns transfered to him. He saw some denero going out the door and not in his regester.   So...he got off his dead arse and found me a couple 500's!!! :eek:  :eek:

I should have them buy the middle of next week!!!
