700 LV SF Barrel heat
« on: August 26, 2005, 05:23:45 PM »
Gents,
I'm looking at a LV SF in .204 for my next varminter, but I'm concerned about the heat build-up in the barrel affecting accuracy after just a few rounds.  Does anyone have any experience with the LV SF in fairly high volume shooting?  In 204 or 22-250?

My other option is the CZ 527 in Kevlar--a close friend has the 223 and is impressed...and I already have a CZ rimfire.  This would be my first venture into Remingtons.  I can see the advantages to a much more robust aftermarket, and I definitely like the feel of the stock on the LV.

LV SF stock question

Okay...so no comments yet on the barrel heat.

Next question:  The stock on the LV has a fantastic fit for me.  Anyone know who makes the stock?  Bell and Carlson has a medalist stock that seems to be the same profile, but I can't be sure.  Anyone know?

LVSF Barrel heat...

I have two LVSF's, one in 223 and one in 22-250.   Neither seem to show a severe deteoration in accuracy due to heat.  I've had both of them hot enough that I couldn't hold onto them and they still shoot in the sub 1/2 range.   I've been really happy with the LVSF line.

I still need one in 7-08...   Good luck with yours.
