gun rest/vise
« on: September 27, 2005, 04:47:22 PM »
I am wanting to get a decent rifle rest/vise. I want something that will work as a vise for cleaning, mounting scopes and working on a gun but then be able to use it as a shooting rest. I have looked at a couple of them but would like to hear what everyone else is using and what works well for this. Not wanting to spend more than $50-75,  would like to hear some comments.

Thanks

BD

That's not really a good idea. What makes a good vise for cleaning does not make a good shooting rest. Get the Tipton vise and then a good shooting rest. Until you can have both use sandbags for the rest. You might even find you don't want anything else.

Thats that kinda info I was looking for. I have seen several that advertise a dual use but I didn't know if they would actually function well for both.  I have been using bipods on a few of my rifles and while they have worked well for me, I think only a good rest will produce the accuracy that I am after now.
