10/22 Trigger

The trigger on my 10/22 is fairly heavy which makes accurate shooting difficult. Are there any suggestions for a simple fix to this problem.

Some shooters install an aftermarket hammer which reduces the pull. There are literally tons of aftermarket components for upgrading the 10/22.

I've run the gamut from a simple spring kit install myself to the full blown JARD assembly.  For the money, send your assembly to TT Shooter www.ttshooter.com and it'll come back with a awesome feel to it.  After the cost of the good kits for a DIY for a few more dollars he'll do it all for you and more.

A local smith offers a slicked up hammer for $20 at our local shows, I had 2 of mine done, one would not trip with all the weight he had brought with him to test trigger pull, the new one is around 3.3 lbs. He doesn't like to go below 3 pounds.
He has a box of triggers that he has worked on , he measures , swaps out and measures again to see the out come until he gets it down, my first rifle was one try, the second was two tries to get it down. I looked at the 2 sites offered here and it looks like the do a lot of fine work to really end up with a super trigger but I am happy with mine now. Best wishes, hope this helps.

If you will keep your eye on the bargain bin on Volquartsen's website you can usually pick up a target hammer for around $20 and that will really smoothe out the trigger for you.
