China trade sanctions up soon
« on: September 07, 2005, 03:08:50 AM »
This month on the 19th our trade sanctions are up with China.  With pressure from the European Union(france) to trade with China again the sanctions may not be renewed on the 9/19.  This could mean we will see Chinese norinco products again lets hope!!!!!! This means new norinco M1a's, 1911a1's and cheap norinco ammo too. And just maybe some new chinese sks's too.  With our surplus market at a lull it could mean some excieting new action is about to happen to stirr things up.  I look at marstar in canada at the norinco products and can't think of a reason we don't have them here available for us too.  Lets hope it happens.

Norinco is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Red Chinese army and a BIG contributer to the DNC and particularly the Clintons. If that's who you want your money to go to by all means, buy from Norinco.

 Jack Crevalle.  I would like to see all red blooded Americans boycott all items made by foreign manufacturers, especially by those in countries that we have problems with.  But the sad truth of the matter is, our government procures a major portion of its military supplies from these countries.  I work for the government (Air Force) and was totally shocked to find we had purchased combat boots for our troops from China.  Looking around, I have noticed many other items from China and other countries that I personally would not buy from.

I was buy all american made stuff too but i lost so many jobs due to imports cutting our throats i jumped ship.  I worked 9 months in 3 years because of it so don't give the buy american made crap. Its better put i lost my job three years in a row after working 3 months. There's nothing made here but babies anyway now.  Give me the great norinco products i'll shoot them no problem. I buy all imported products now and hardley anything made here.  There is a lot of Japanese parts on a harley too its not even american made too its american assembled with Japanese parts.
Ya "made in america" sticker sure.

BTW: My last great american job was for one of the biggest engineering groups in the country we would develope new products here in the US to be manufactured overseas then they would send their first products here so we could life test them so they would meet the quality requirements.  We even imported engineers from overseas while laying off american engineers too.  After working there for 17 years i was let go so they could show the stockholders more profits that the company president promised them when they appointed him President of the company. I was disabled and wanted to keep my job but they had other plans for me.  Its the great american free enterprise system its for everyone in the world but us americans!!!!!!!!  Yup buy american sure...........its the american worker screwing the american worker its the american way.

I did not advocate a "buy only American" policy in my post. Competetion for any company is escential to stay in business.

Norinico has given to the DNC in past and for all I know, continues to do so. The technology that allows China  to target US cities accurately with ICBMs was obtained because the Clinton administration allowed US companies to sell it to them. Norinco is contolled by the same communist generals that now brag that they can destoy US cities. Again, I didn't say anything about a boycott but if this is who you want to give your money to then don't cry when President Hillary's BATF kicks in your door and demands the "machine gun" you bought from Norinco one day.

Also, I find it hard to believe that the USAF could not find a US manufacturer to supply them with boots. As far as I know the law that says the Federal government must buy from US sources unless none is available in still in effect. Note I DO NOT say that it didn't happen, I'm sure it did.

 Not just the USAF, but lots of government agencys buy products made in China.  Tools are big on the list, pens, pencils, paint brushes, etc, I could go on forever.

Funny, most of the american manufacturing jobs are being sent overseas, while the people from those countries are slipping into the USA. Hummmm....go figure.

I guess I have two Chicom SKS's and two Chicom 9mm Tokarev's, so I am not without bagage.

I know that when I look at the Norinco M-14 & Garrand clones they are selling in Canada for a relative song, I would welcome the opportunity to get one of those at the low prices.

Having said that, I really don't like giving money to the Chinese military authorities for the work of their slave labor prision camp factories.

All, in all, I view trade and free enterprise as the ultimate capitalist corruption of a "communist country."  When people are given a task of free trade, communism is much harder to swallow and other freedoms become necesitities with the money from one's individual efforts.

We buy arab oil and the arabs with our money took down our world trade centers yet we still buy arab oil?  So what did china do to us? Talk is cheap.  Yup bring on the cheap norinco m1a's they have to be a better quality than what springfield armory is selling us for $1,200.

Its funny we never hear where all these arabs are getting all these AK47's from??  For some reason they have a never ending supply of AK47's and RPG's.  I wonder where they are all comming from?  I guess are money from the oil is going to russia to buy more arms for the arabs too.  We still buy the arab oil and we do have an option of tapping that big yellow power source in the sky but we don't mainly because too many of our great american politicians own stock in the arab oil companies. Have you ever thought if the space shuttle can run on solar why can't every household be run on solar?  Its time to tape that big yellow unlimited power source in the sky and screw the big oil arab profits.

EXACTLY with springfield armory pushing their POS M1a's out the door for $1,200 your never going to get a good accurate one because of them having quality problems and from what i'm seeing its rolling into their 1911's now too.  Plus their 1911's are made in Brazil now too. In looking at the WW2 models in a SA and the auto-ordnance 1911's i would go with the auto ordnance I think the auto ordnace company sure has turned tyhe corner with their products with quality and i predict they will be a force to be recond with in the near future.  I have to get the most in quailty for my dollar, I never pay for the samething twice. If I can get a better quality Chinese Norinco M1a or 1911 for a lot less in cost thats the way i'm going.  If the american companies here want to turnout  garbage let it rot and let them get out of the way who do it right or let them go out of business.  We have to be smart quality driven shoppers just because it says american made doesn't mean its made in america or a top quality product.  This is why our auto manufacturers are in trouble too they put out a crap product for so many years and the japanese are so way a head in pumping out a quality product mainly because they want to kick our @sses after WW2.  Their working 18 to 20 hours a day to compete with us and soon their production numbers will be so high they will falter sooner or later just like we do.  But we sure can get some great quality cars for a while. I have worked very closely with the Japanese and they demand the upmost in quality and will accept nothing less. Just look at the matchup on the body lines on our american cars and compare them to the japanese cars?  We suck.  I had my american made cars fall apart at 100k my japanese car is still going strong like the day i bought it at 150k. Its out lasted my american made car so far 2 to 1 and i expect it to last 300k.  We pay so much for a new car i expect it to last at least 10 years. I'm on year 9 right now and it just may make it another 5 years. Lets face it the japanese products are just people movers they will never compete with our truck market like our 3/4 and 1 ton trucks just like they couldn't make it in the tire business with Nascar.  Which made me happy to see it too they needed a slap that everything isn't a given even if you focus on it. Lets face it sometimes they lack the experience too. The bottomline is its who has the best quality product thats what i buy.

My last boss asked me once what i thought about unions and i told him a union is for the guy who doesn't want to work and a hard worker can make it anywhere with no union.  I have worked for most of the unions in this country and i have seen the best and worst in the american union workers.  The companies have pushed this high cost on to us and it isn't working anymore even with employee discounts I ain't going for it.  Let their junk products rot....

The problem with Norinco is that when you buy one of their products, you are funding the Red Army.  Which isn't good.

Are you then in no way concerned that a large portion of the output of China is made with SLAVE labor? Do you just not care that China enslaves it's on people? If the answer is no then I have nothing more to say to you on the subject. No reason to waste further discussion.

what kind of human being doesnt care about those who are oppressed by their own nation?
thats not christian and it sure aint american!

when you buy that crap, you put a round (figuitively) in the magazine of the chinese kid who is going to pop a few off at your grandkids someday in the straits of taiwan..or maybe even closer.

those people are NOT our friends......we have nothing in common...race, religion, and 10,000 years of vast cultural differences create an unbridgable gap between us....they might as well be spacemen who live on the other side of the ocean.

dman........you state that unions and buy america have cost you your job.  Im sorry to hear about your misfortune, truly.
But to blame it on unions and buy american is to attempt to paint the real cause for your industry/trade/career with too broad a brush.
the town im from used to make tires.....lots of folks 20-30 years ago lost good paying jobs.....lots blamed the unions........wouldnt be the fact that it costs a lot of money to HEAT a tire factory in the middle of JANUARY here in Northeast Ohio..sure its easy to blame the Unions, and they arent perfect............but I'll bet there is another underlying cause why what happened to you happened.

First it was the 21% interest rates and the cheaper imported machines is why I lost so many good american jobs I happen to go from sinking ship to sinking ship it got so bad i closed every shop soon after i was hired. It even got worse all i had to do was to put an application for a job in and when i went back a week later the place was closed.  While everyone was sitting back fat dumb and happy buying cheap imported stuff the bottom fell out in our industry. Yup I'm a happy camper for sure and now i try to buy everything not made in the USA all of my purchases are imported.  I sure enjoy that good cheap chinese norinco stuff too bring it on in our country i'll buy it and enjoy it.  Thats what america is all about the free enterprise system, fair trade with the rest of the world right?  We can't even keep up with the supply of .223 bullets there is a shortage maybe we should by them from Russia in the wolf brand?  Did you know there is an influx in the supply of 7,62x39 right now?  I read it was because the terrorists are buying it up so we have a shortage in our import of it. My point is pretty soon we won't manufacture anything in the USA but babies. We are starting to depend on other countries who will crap on us at any given chance....

Our big coporations looking at china for the next big money making profits for their stockholders its the next big conquest.  They are all taped out in the US and other countries so the new asian market is looking to be the next promised land.  We are going to deal with China anyway.  The last US company i worked for had a division in China already making big profits.  We are going to develop China and make big dollars.

I really think we put our nose in too many other countries business. We should stay home and take care of our own first.  We feed the rest of the world while or poor and needy starve.

D Man,

 You wrote:

I've got some good news for you.  Last year, Toyota started constructing a new truck manufacturing plant, near Plano Texas, that will be one of the largest in the world, for the specific purpose manufacturing and going head to head with Ford and Chevy in the big truck market, including 3/4 ton trucks.    They picked the State of Texas because Texas people buy more trucks per person that any other state in the country.

So, in a year or two, you will get extremely high quality large Toyota trucks.

By the way, my experience with Japanese quality is the same as yours.  In 1992, I bought a new 4 cylinder Camry for $12,800.   I drove it for 12 years, and got 260,000 miles out if it, with absolutely no problems.  All I had done was the scheduled maintenance in the owner's manual.   I've owned five Fords in my life (2 cars, two F-150s, and one Explorer) , and will never buy one again. (Junk, junk, junk, junk and junk.)

My Nissan Pathfinder is now 3 years old. Not a single problem or loose screw.

Your never going to work a japanese truck like you can with an american made truck.  I had a 73 k10 chevy i would put a 1/2 a cord of wood in it(3,000lbs) and drag another 1/2 cord behind me out of the woods.  After bending two rear end housings I finally got a 1 ton truck to beat on.  I tipped the scales in the gravel pits near my home at 15,000lbs with 1 1/4" stone.  Lets face it the japs are going to have to go a long way to build a 1 ton truck that can do that.  We really haven't had a decent heavy duty work truck since International stopped making them. If you took all the good points of all three truck manufacturers like Ford, Chevy and Dodge and put it all together you got an International. Now the family guys want a smooth ride in a pickup then its not for work like it once was.
Texas is definitely truck country but will the people go for the jap trucks over the Ford F150's?

What an interesting topic.  I will start by saying what can I buy today that is 100% American made?  Now, I will use Harley Davidson as an example.  Myself I ride a Honda VTX motorcycle.  It is my understanding that the Honda VTX is made here in the USA.  It is my understanding that my motorcycle is more American made than a Harley.  But don't tell all of these Harley riders that a lot of the parts on their motorcycles comes from China and other foreign countries because they love to try and shove this "I ride a bike that 's made in America" **** down everyone's throats.

Graybeard, not wanting to start a personnel argument with you but I am sure you have heard the saying"people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".  Look around you, I am sure you are doing your fair share of supporting countries that are not exactly friendly with us.  A lot of it I am sure you're not even aware of, but never the less still doing it.  Next time you start one of your vehicles up think where that fuel has come from.

We are all guilty of supporting foreign economy's.  We just don't know or realize how much we do.  And don't think you are the one that doesn't because if you stopped buying anything that has anything foreign about it your life would be pretty rough.  I am through now.

Come to think about it, a lot of the rebuilding that is going to take place thanks to Katrina will probably involve a lot of plywood that we import from Russia .  Do you think these people that rebuild their homes and businesses will look at the plywood and think"I wonder where this plywood comes from, If it isn't manufactured here in the USA I ain't gonna use it".

Unless the Chinese M14S (M1A clone) has been dramatically improved, I wouldn't waste my money.

The receivers are generally excellent.  Maybe even better than the cast Springfield clones.  The rest of the gun is basically throw-away, especially the bolts (way too soft).  They develop excess headspace in the matter of a few thousand rounds.

If you can get one for under $400 its worth it - for the receiver.  Then spend another $800 making it right!

 Several years ago while employed at a Toyota dealership in West Texas an older gentleman walk up to me and chewed on my butt for what seemed like an hour because I worked there.  He told me he had fought against the Japs in WWII, still hated them bast%$#@ and there was no was he would buy anything from Japan.  We talked for a few more minutes and I asked, what kind of watch are you wearing, he replied a Seiko,  hummm, made in Japan, what kind of shotgun you shooting, he replied, a Charles Daly, hummm, made in Japan.  We went on and and after asking about several other items, I found all were mad in Japan.

Most everything we buy today is either made overseas or some part of it is.  Looks at your boots, shirts, pants, belts, radio, etc, I could go on forever.  Very little is made in America today, and a large portion of what is made here is inferior to products made elsewhere.

As for the Toyota trucks, they may not haul or tow as much as an American truck, but they will outlast anything made here.  I have not seen too many domestic vehicles that run 200-300 thousand miles and are still going strong and have never had the engine worked on.

I drive a Ford F-250, crew cab, 4x4 diesel because I need the towing power.  Toyota is planning to have a 07 model diesel pickup that is equal in size and power to the Ford, Dodge and Chevrolet.  They have passed the American manufactures in numbers in the smaller trucks, and will likely do it with their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. (I also own a Chevy truck, a Toyota 4x4 and two Two Toyota cars)

In my opinion, this is due largely as a result of a decline in craftsmanship and quality in American products.  Everybody wants that paycheck, but no one cares about the quality of the product.  I wish it wasn't like that, I would like to but American, but as long as American jobs are being sent overseas I have to buy whats available

My company worked very closely with their japanese division and they realized that quality and product reliability is number one to the japanese but they also want the latest and greatest design too.  It kind of changed my mind too now i want the best quality product and it has to have the reliability too but at the sametime it has to be affordable too.  I don't care where its made and by who as long as it meets my demands i'm buying it.

I hope the japanese can lead the way into the 3/4 & 1 ton truck market. I think the market is wide open for a good decent truck.  I think their going to really have to beef things up from what they have been making in the past.
