Used my Huntsman on Caribou
« on: September 18, 2005, 02:07:10 AM »
Just got back from northern Quebec last week and harvested 2 caribou. I was using 295gr powerbelt aero tip bullets and 2 50gr pellets of 777. I only took one caribou with the Huntsman and the shot was approx. 50 yards behind the shoulder. It was complete pass thru and the caribou only traveled maybe 40 yards before falling over. This muzzleloader is my favorite of the 7 I own, very accurate and reliable. The other caribou I got, I borrowed a 30-06 from a friend in camp due to rain and it was the last day of the hunt. It was a great one time hunt and I'm ready to get after whitetails later on this year.......

:D That's great! I hope to hunt Caribou some day. But for now I will settle for a good mule deer hunt in about 10 days.  I have found the Huntsman to be reliable and accurate on my antelope hunt and mule deer hunts.

Sounds good!  Glad you got a Bou.  I got drawen for a Muzzleloader Moose permit this November.  I'm going to be shooting the 405gr Aero-tip.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
