A few little pond perch

My father-inlaw  caught these a few weeks ago down in south Ms.  This one wasn't the biggest ,there were four more bigger and the smallest no less than 8". 53 total

nice fish.  

 but perch?  that  is a bream, or bluegill, or sunfish.  many other names as well.   i have never heard them refered to as perch.

:D Call em what you like.  In my opinion, there is no better eating that the old "perch".  That looks like what the coonies in La. call a Chinkipin (spelling).  We use to catch em by the hundreds in a lake south of Alexandria.  There was no limit on them back in the 50s.

Hey,rockbilly we also call them "bull bream" and there still isn't any limit, we also call crappie "sac-a-lait" and the name they call us is cajun. :)
