howdy, Cheyenne Ranger!
Years ago, my metal shop teacher friend showed me his contraption for making a lubricant mold for his Lyman 450 lube/sizer.
He was a machinist, and he had no difficulty lathe turning a bar of aluminum, boring a hole in it, and fabricating a ram with center rod for the hole. It worked perfectly, and he was generous enough to share his home made lube sticks with the shooting club.
As I recall, it was a simple affair, and could probably be duplicated in wood using a 1/" twist drill bit, a 1" Forstner boring bit, and sandpaper, and wood finish. A drill press would make it easier.
I would start with a block of some dense, hard wood such as birch or maple, thick enough for structural integrity and bore a 1 inch diameter hole 4 inches deep. Drill a 1/2" hole thru the bottom of the bore.
(Adjust these dimensions to fit the desired lubricator-sizer).
Sand and polish the hole with sandpaper wrapped around a dowel stick chucked in an electric drill motor, and lacqer or shellac it smooth.
Make a plunger by turning a plug to make a sliding fit in the bored hole. Attach a 1/2" thick dowel rod and glue to the plug. Sand the plunger to make a sliding fit in the bore, and lacquer or shellact it smooth. You can also use wax.
That's it! You fit the plunger and rod into the bored hole to to form a cavity. Pour your lubricant melt into the hole and let it solidify before pushing the lubricant stick out of the mold.
My friend said he made the aluminum one so that he could immerse it in cold water and speed up cooling.
