I have found at least two ruger rifles that were not listed on the web or in the catalog, and have read here where some of ya'll have found non-listed rifles.

Is there a place to find a list of all these special run rifles or is it just a hit and miss deal. Thanks DM.

You know, Ruger is awful about that. I had at one time (and traded it away) a Mini-14 Ranch rifle which was stanless and had a Black Grey and Green laminate stock. I have only seen 3 of them, and the other two were described the same as mine when I bought it. When I bought it, the dealer said, "I haven't seen too many of these, and they are not in the catolog, so if you want a collector, get this one...if you want a shooter get the wood stock." The other guys that have the other two that I have seen said the dealer told them pretty much the same way. It shot 4-6" groups at 100 yards, so I traded it away. Kinda wish i still had it, but then again, what good is a gun that won't shoot?

Ruger, along with other firearm manufacturers, are contracted by the distributors to producemodels that differ from the cataloged model for exclusive distribution by that company. Davidson's, Lipsey's, Acusport, Jerry's are just a few. They'll differ from cataloged model by finish, chambering, stock/grip material, bbl length, etc. ruger will list current special editions on thier website sometimes. While some dealers make a big deal about them being "uncataloged" and therefore "rare" many aren't. Some are made in runs of 250 or so but most are made in runs of at least 1000. Heck, you have enough money and Ruger will make a special run just for you. Some gun shops have had special runs made for a event at times too. There's been A LOT of them done and out there. I think I know where one of those blk laminate mini's is.

I have heard that ruger will chamber any cal they offer in any gun model that they offer for 100.00 extra, however have not been able to find out how to git r done. Anyone else know about this?

Been keeping up on Ruger for years now and this is completely new to me. They will NOT alter any firearm into a configuration other than what is/has been cataloged for such model. They have the factory engraving now but no custom shop for this type of work.

Hmm...I own a Model 10/22-TAL, the special-edition race gun. That never showed up on the website. Mine is rifle #1435, out of 1500, I believe.

All 4 of my 10/22's are non-cataloged items.

3 came that way---1 I made up.

1. Black/gray laminated International Wally World special

2. Took a DLX Sporter---beautifull stock---bought a stainless/syn one---swapped barrelled actions and sold off the rest---now I have one of the few stainless DLX Sporters in existance in the WALNUT stock.

3. Wally World special Sporter type rifle with 22in. stainless barrel.

4. Full camo-ed blued/syn underneath---again from the factory but non-cataloged.

well my new non-cataloged ruger 77 270wsm bk/grey lam. with stainless rifle just came home - one purtty piece. hope she shoots as goog as she looks, or at least as good as my 5 other 77's. still tring to decide what to top er off with. have a new sightron 41/2x14x50 that looks good sitting on her. its between that or a 4200 4x16x50

Ruger makes a special rifle for Cabelas its a target grey and synthetic stock,only in 30-06. :-)

Hey dancoman,

Can you tell me where you got the Ruger 270 WSM w/ the laminated stock? I'd really like to see a pic of that. Is is like the black/grey laminated stocks that come on the Ruger Frontier?

Please advise. I'd love to get one of those to fit my .350 RM all-weather.

biglmbass, I found this gun in the 2005 Henry Shot Show Catalog. I ordered it arond Christmas time and it took until the middle of June to get here. The black/grey laminate looks the same as the frontier and the laminate on the #1's. Topped it off with a sightron 4.5x14x50. One purrty piece. I will try to post a pic. for ya.

Finally, I got to shoot her. 140gr Accubond Fed V-Shock. And she does shoot as good as she looks. Time was getting close on me so i only got to fire 2 rounds after sighting in. With a fresh target, my second shot either totally missed or it was a very good thing. After making the 100 yd walk. It was a VERY GOOD THING.

Got a chance to shoot a few more times. MAN what a shooter. At 100yards with factory ammo, all shots are are touching. Shoot a 5 shot group and no daylight between. Can't wait to try out on a hide.
