450 Marlin Ultra Questions
« on: October 10, 2005, 11:34:02 AM »
Alright I just got a 450 Marlin. The button to break the barrel is very loose and rattles around. It works perfect though. Is this normal, if not how do I fix it?

Also what barrels can I add to this frame? It is a "P" serial number.
I looked over the website but I couldn't get a definitive answer.

Thanks!

the rattle is normal.  Check the "sticky" section on top of the forums, I believe that your answers may be in there.

Glad it's normal. I didn't find anything in the stickys though.

Does anyone know about barrel exchange on this rifle?

All center fire rifle and shotgun barrels except 10 gauge. Check with h&r customer service to make sure...

Is there a list of serial numbers and manufacture date?
Mitch in MI posted December 12, 2003 10:33 PM
Look at the 2nd letter of the serial number.
(I'm pretty sure 1995 is J, 1994 H, etc)

K=1996
L=1997
M=1998
N=1999
P=2000
R=2001
S=2002
T=2003
You're looking for N or later if you want to be able to order the barrels marked with an asterisk on the accessory barrel page.

This is from the sticky 4 down from the top.

Hope this helps Warf
