Good HandiRifle Gunsmith In SW

Howdy folks.  I'm new to this board and I'm sure this has been asked before, but here goes again.

I live in the southwest and want to barrel a Handi-Rifle in .348 Winchester.  Can any of you recommend a good smith to do the work?  I appreciate all responses.

:D , Welcome aboard Bill, I can see right away by your taste in rifle calibers you are a man of fine distinction. Please let me know if you get that .348 Handi completed and how it works out. I would like to get the cost and gunsmiths name also, since I have wanted a .348 Handi for a long time. Come often and stay late, your among friends here....<><....

Thanks for the welcome and the tip.  I will check out Mr. York.

I assume when I get this new barrel, I'll still be able to use my other barrels on the same receiver - just like from the factory.

I wanted this chambering in a double rifle, but the cost is a bit hairy.  Besides, I like the Handi and I'll just have to learn to reload very fast.

Thanks again fellas.

Yes Bill, once a barrel is fitted to a frame it takes only a screwdriver and about a minute or less to swap barrels back and forth yourself. After spending an inordinate amount here on this site with we Handiholics you too will soon be fitting your own barrels and swapping all sorts of stocks, rifle barrels, shotgun barrels and all manner of sights, from ladder sights (ala Quigley Down Under) to scopes, to red dots, to peeps and open iron sights, These guns are just plain fun!!! I think my next will be a .35 Remington barrel made from a .357 Mag Barrel as soon as I hear from another member who is doing one now, then, someday, a .348 Winchester chambering, perhaps. I will start with the .35 Remington first since I really like the round AND it's much cheaper to rechamber to, just use a .357 Mag barrel. With the .348 Winchester the barrel will have to be rebored, = more money....<><....
