.303 Brit?
« on: November 18, 2005, 04:53:45 AM »
Out of idle curiosity, does the .303 brit see much use in Africa?  I hear about how popular the .308 and '06 are, but these are American cartridges.  I would think that among non-americans, the brit would be fairly popular in the eastern and southern countries especially.  Has anybody who has been there seen this?  And if so, what is its local reputation?

I am curious about this as well. I am thinking of a plains game safari in 2007 and have, in addition to a sporterized NÂș4 Mk1, a P-14 which is quite accurate. I have been considering restocking it and maybe reaming it to .303 Epps. With premium bullets (such as Woodleigh) I would think it might be OK for all but the largest plains game at moderate ranges, assuming proper bullet placement.
