New semi Stoeger or 11-87
« on: October 06, 2005, 02:58:14 PM »
Want to get a new semi, have 870 Turkey gun 3 1/2" chamber, but was thinking on a semi.  What would you buy Stoeger is somewhat cheaper than a 11-87 and Remington is getting bashed lately for bad quaility control.  Anyone have any experience with Stoeger 2000, what I have read seems good.
                                    Thanks

C-miner,
You may want to also look at the Winchester SX-2. I picked up a used one and it is a sweet shooting piece. I was going to get the 11-87 as parts and service (if needed) along with accessories are readily available. But I found an SX-2 3" chamber in used condition and it turned out to be a tad less expensive and came with a complete set of chokes. I picked up an Ithaca aftermarket slug barrel for a reasonable price and am now ready for anything that runs, hops, or flies in this locale.
Safe shooting.

I wouldnt buy a S. 2000 Benelli owns them and i had a new benelli. That shot 10 inch to the right @ 30 yrds sent it back Benelli . It stad there for a few month they sent it back to me the way i sent it to them. They didnt do a thing to the gun. I took that day i got it hope and trade it in on a Win Super X 2 3 1/2 12ga. I would pick a 11 87 any day over that S 2000. And i like my Win SX2 shotgun. But that is my .2 cents worth. VM

i also own an sx 2 and love it. this is one gun i will never part with. but if i had to choose between the stoeger and the remington, the remington wins hands down.

Don't just rule out stoeger because remington is a little better known brand.  I'm a Remington guy, but I have a stoeger 2000 and love it.  Try both guns out and see what fits/feels better, then buy it.
