Need help on gun price
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:29:37 AM »
My buddy wants to purchase one of my lever action rifles from me.  The gun is a Winchester 94AE carbine in 7-30 Waters.  Gun condition is very good (90%) and sports a Williams peep sight.

What is a fair price for this gun?

I know there is a blue book for gun values but with all the events of Winchester leaving the country I am not sure if their values have sky rocketed or took a dump.  None of the local dealers in my area want to give a straight answer. Please help.

Thanks,

7-30 Waters

It may be hard to put a price on one right now.  Prices around here (Wisconsin) spiked shortly after production stopped then started coming down.  I see them around in the $300-400 range at gun shows a few months ago.  For a while they were way over twice that.  What has happened in the last couple months is unknown to me.

Good luck.

even with the spike in winchester prices considered , the 7-30 waters was always a tough one to get ! there is just not that many of them around . if my memory is correct the 7-30 waters was also a XTR model with checkering and nice walnut stocks . i would say no less then $400 to a friend , a stranger would be more .

Thanks.  You are right.  I missed the 7-30 information and was thinking of a Ranger.
