.22 Ultra Mag Varmint
« on: April 30, 2006, 01:41:21 PM »
Went to the Syracuse NY gun show last weekend and saw a like new 308 survivor for sale. Well including tax I was $10.00 short and the dealer would not come down so leaving the show at the next to last table I spotted a 22 mag. Ultra Varmint for sale, price was right so I bought it. I thought it was used but it was new, never fired and when the dealer brought out the box it was the older white one made in 2001. Took it to the range yesterday and using Rem. Premier 33 gr. V-Max 5 shots at 50 yds were in one hole. Tried 3 shots at 100 Yds., 3/4 inch. Best shooting 22 Mag I ever had and this was right out of the box all I did was polish ihe bore with JB bore paste. I have had 5 22 Mag's before including A Ruger 77 with a Volkerson bbl. and none came close. Not bad for a inexpencive rifle.

 Looks like you hit the motherlode. I have a Sportster ready to send in for a 22Mag. bull barrel. Hope it shoots half as good as yours.    Hunman55
